Brilliant album. Usually takes a few spins for me to be onboard for a new release. This only took one listen. I think they've fully matured here into their own. Fantastic riffs, sensitive melodies that are memorable, high energy and just overall fantastic songwriting. These guys are (obviously) highly influenced by some top tier bands but they have morphed it into their own. One of my standard go to bands now. Check it out!

Really really good, their best so far in overall quality. No super track, like Tabula Rasa on their previous though. Throw in a bit more personality, and maybe a growl or two, and I think we've got a 10.

Good songwriting, with a sprinkling of excellent riffs and great melodies here and there. Ultimately, though, Soen doesn't really bring anything new to the table for me and I tend to think their approach is rather bland. It's worth a listen, though.

I'd list my favorite tracks from this album but I'd pretty much just list every track, great from start to finish!

Another fantastic albums by these guys. Soen are shaping up to be one of the most consistent prog metal acts out there. The songwriting is excellent and it's really tough to nit-pick for any flaws. At the same time, as others have said, this is still fairly similar to their other material. There's nothing ground-breaking brought to the table so it is hard to say if it will maintain that allure through the rest of the year with more listens, but the whole album is so consistently strong that I'm not sure that it really matters... Others are saying that they've really come into their own with this release, which I'm not sure I really agree with. Still hearing a lot of Toolpeth all through this and a lot of Katatonia as well; not necessarily a bad thing.

Sounds like the meeting point at a Tool-Opeth-Riverside crossroads to me, more so than the first two albums that seemed to lean on Tool a bit more, plus a bit of a personal touch in there as well. It's enjoyable and well-made, although it doesn't wildly excite me compared to those other bands to be honest

Personally, now that Opeth has switched styles, Soen is excites me the most out of those 4.

Well, I do prefer this to Sorceress and Heritage (not PC though), Riverside have a big question mark regarding their future sound now that Piotr's gone, and Tool's album is forever just beyond the horizon, so I guess I'm quite likely to prefer Soen's next album to anything the other bands release in the meantime. Still, I'd probably look forward to a new album by any of those bands (even Opeth, I'll always go in with hope that they get more towards what I want from them) than Soen, they still haven't fully clicked with me after 3 albums now

The Opeth-Tool-Riverside comparison is on point. I think this is their best album yet, great replay value and marvelous musicianship.
Excited to see them live in a week or so.

Saw them last night on the tour opening night. Really good performance. They played basically every song from their catalogue that I like, except maybe God's Acre. Opal, Sister, Fraccions, and of course Tabula Rasa were absolutely devastating. Great crowd too!

Got me really psyched up The supporting band Madder Mortem are really good as well. Just discovered them.

The lead singer seemed kind of awkward. You'll understand what I mean. The bassist really rocks it out though!

They kicked ass man! Such stage presence.
The venue was small and so the show felt really intimate. The set list was great and crowd went fucking wilh Opal and Tabula Rasa.

This is really good, they are sounding less and less like Tool wannabes. People that have dissed the band in the past should give it a try again with this.

This is the only site still giving this album some love by the end of the year, lol. Too bad, I think it was definitely one of the best albums of the year.

It's a pity that the best song of the album is a bonus track

Djinn is my favorite track. I found this album really enjoyable and an improvement over the first 2 because it has consistent myterious mood all along. I like the cover as well. Lotus is a great album and this one is a close contender.
