In Flames - Release Surprise Covers EP

Gothenburg-based metal heavyweights In Flames have surprised fans with a four-track covers EP titled Down, Wicked & No Good, which is out today on streaming platforms worldwide during sold out hometown show at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. They also debuted their cover of Depeche Mode's 1997 hit single "It's No Good". Enjoy it below.

You can download the covers EP here.

In Flames are taking over Depeche Mode's Facebook page today starting at 13:00 CET, releasing exclusive content and a new video for the song!

The covers collection also includes In Flames' versions of Alice In Chains' "Down In A Hole", Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game," and a live bonus version of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt".

"We've been fans of Depeche Mode since we were as young as 10. Getting to do our rendition of 'It's No Good' showed us a different side of the song - it brought new meanings to us. We relate to the lyrics and power of the song so heavily that it almost feels as if we could have written it ourselves. They're a band that we've always looked up to. Growing up, you either listened to Pop, Synths or Rock and even though we are a metal band, Depeche Mode inspired a lot of the electronic elements we use in our music today."

Earlier this week, the Swedish group kicked off a 25 date co-headline arena tour with American heavyweights, Five Finger Death Punch and special guests Of Mice & Men in Helsinki.

The original song is awesome, but this is a completely uninteresting cover. The video, being a rip-off of the film "Drive", doesn't save it.

It still shocks and saddens me just how far In Flames have fallen off. Who is this music for exactly? Evens teens would not listen to this?

I am disappointed that none of the haters made the "It's No Good" pun. For shame. Anyway, I'll judge it after I listen to it.

With covers of Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode?

I'm not even an In Flames fan, but c'mon... you think tweens in 2017 listen to Depeche Mode??

I gave up completely on In Flames many years ago. However, take these tracks COMPLETELY at face value- forget it's In Flames, forget they are covers, forget the band usually plays some kind of metal, and...get your pitchforks ready... From a kind of goth rock/pop standpoint, they're not bad. I kind of enjoyed all of them except the live, overdone NIN cover.

It sounds as awful as Liberation in Sounds Of A Playground Fading ! Sometimes I feel like downloading the whole album but this track just to make sure I won't accidentally play it

Finally listened to it. Even though it sounds nothing like In Flames, instrumentally it's a pretty good hard rock cover of the song. The vocals don't really fit though.

Half the tracks are some kinda metal, just a very borderline kinda metal. Also has some industrial rock influence as well.

I agree. This is not that bad, I actually think it's a good cover EP. Certainly a lot better than their two last studio albums.
