Next year, there will be another Malta Doom Festival, and the first gem to be confirmed is Dutch death/doom veterans Officium Triste. They were the first band to be announced for the fest, followed by Damien Thorne. 2018 will mark the 10th edition of the Malta Doom Festival and they are working to give fans an event that will be remembered.

The festival organizers said: "So here we go with the first announcement for MDM X! We think that it is very fitting to kick off the list of band enrolled for our 10th anniversary edition with Rotherdoomers Officium Triste - a band that holds MDM and the Maltese doom metal scene strongly to heart. MDM X will mark the Dutch doom death legends' third appearance in Malta and MDM. Main man Pim informs us that OT will be unleashing material from their upcoming new album and choice cuts from their extensive stellar repertoire for the occasion. Another killer show from the guys is surely in the making. Here's a new OT track from the upcoming album...crushing stuff as always!"
