I'm happy how they turned out as I didn't have a photo pass so all are taken from the crowd, and HF was the first time I used my new camera (not even a reflex, just a bridge: the first Sony RX-10) to shoot shows...

I only saw a small part of their set, as they'll be playing in Toulouse this September, but I must say I was quite impressed (note that while I knew the hype about the band, I still didn't listen to them beforehand) - that was pretty much as satanic and static as you could expect, and the stage itself was quite beautiful with all that liturgic decorum

Well, Litourgiya was my favourite bm album for 2015 and they are coming to Athens this September too, so I think I'll grab the opportunity to check them out

How were Batushka live?

I was waiting up front to see Amorphis on the stage next to it, so I couldn't hear it entirely clearly, but what I heard I dug quite a bit. Not sure I ever gave their album a proper listen but it's now down on my list of things to check out. I can imagine someone who was a fan of them (which seemed to be A LOT of people, I'm not sure I saw another band playing that early on in the day on one of the side stages for whom the crowd spilled out from beneath the tent to that degree) would've been well satisfied.

Heilung totally had that too, even more than Batushka. Arkona did overflow pretty well too

Not sure I went near then when Heilung was playing. I don't actually remember it being that busy for Arkona when I walked by there whilst they were playing. The worst was definitely for Children Of Bodom, bit of a crazy decision to stick them on a stage.

Well at the very beginning of Arkona it was packed, maybe the crowd went away after that?
As for Bodom, I easily managed to get a part of their set, after seeing half of Dead Cross, just by entering the Altar via the Temple.
Also, just like Dimmu, I guess they easily deserved a spot on the mainstages, but style-wise it just wasn't feasable this saturday I guess....

BTW, that Amorphis set was good
