Mayhem - Label Change, Announce New Album & Tour


Norwegian black metal legends, Mayhem, have signed to Century Media Records and are ready to deliver their 6th offering through the label. Not much has been revealed about the album, other than that it will be released this year on the 25th of October. Afterwards they will embark on an European headlining tour with Gaahls Wyrd and GosT as support.

The band states: "Once again Mayhem is writing a new chapter in its 35 year history. We are excited to now have joined forces with Century Media and are eager to see what this partnership can do for us both in the future."

Noice. Wondering if they'll drop the Ordo sound for this one, but should be good either way seeing they tend to innovate into sounds that no other bands have done.

While I'm always happy to hear about a new album from one of my favourite bands, I really hope it's a more engaging and moving piece of work than 'Esoteric Warfare', which is probably their worst release to date.
I'm not expecting another masterpiece like 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas', but perhaps an album on par with 'Chimera' (in quality if not in sound etc) wouldn't be too much to ask. Anyway, time will tell.
