With a more well known band i"d ask if they had run out of money to need a reunion and new album, but why did they release this?

Haha, that's like saying "compose your own Metal album and upload it here, instead of writing a review of an album".

I never understood the point of that kind of comment .. Trying to imply that you have the absolute, objective, taste and that if you don't like it, it shouldn't even exist ?
A simple "I hate it is" enough, these guys can release whatever the fuck they want, even if only 10 people like it.

Translated into English: this sounds like a watered down lame version of the band they used to be. No good riffs (no wonder, two founding guitarists left), no good keys (Eve left too) and finally Tommy's vocals are definitely not like before the split-up (he had some health issues though if I am correct). So I second that, what's the point?

What i meant is very much along the lines of what MeatWolf said
but a big issue with it is that they do not sound like they want to make this music, rather like trying to create something that has the right amount of clean and harsh vocals, groove and melodic riffs and keyboard additions to fulfill contractual obligations of what a myGrain song has to be, without any of the flow and dynamics that made their music worthwhile. Here, instead of the band working together, whenever one member has a good part the others are doing the minimum to get through it, with muddy sound and awful mixing letting the snare drum drown out much of the rest

Yep, definitely better like this. At least we can understand why you don't like it, and though I don't really agree it's interesting.
I personally liked the track, though it's for sure not up to the standards of what they used to do. I tend to think that the melodic death metal scene doesn't have that much quantity to offer, and so when I get new decent stuff I'm happy to add that to my collection.

Regarding the point of it at all, they probably do it for fun or money which I imagine are the main drivers in that industry, and that's fine by me. It doesn't have to be the best album of the year for it to deserve existing.
