Sounds like Iced Earth before Iced Earth existed. Shortly put, this is the style of power metal that Steelemeister and other true metallers of steele enjoy and prefer. John Doe try listening to this if you already haven't

Quite an impressive album, nice flow despite its length (69 minutes), ambitious, tight performance with a great vocalist, nice use of flute and violin on a couple of songs. Recommended fans of US Power, heavy metal and even thrash. Richard W. Elliott IV formed another short lived band after that, The Last Things who did a great album and vanished. I need to re-visit it soon.

Written by JoHn Doe on 12.06.2024 at 11:39 Ya I have listened it (Circles and Butterflies) a couple of times and it's quite unique style if looked at as a metal record; the slow sections make it sound more like prog rock with some psychedelic rock elements too. More impressive in uniqueness and originality than songwriting quality IMO. Real good record, I say an easy 8/10.
