Another Metalstorm score head scratcher. I don't understand how this isn't loved. This was awesome.

Avant-garde stuff is chronically under-appreciated here. Judas Priest can do the same album they’ve done 20 times before and MS will vote it top two. A band like Gigan can blow your mind from start to finish with something visionary and imaginative and people just don’t grasp it.

I guess if you write a beautiful poem in a language few people speak, few people will appreciate it. But for those of us that understand…

Couldn't agree more. It's like trying to get most of the people I know trying to watch a movie in a foreign language. I'm here enjoying some of the greatest movies of all time while they're missing out because of ignorance. Then you get called hipster for liking things many Won't give a chance.

This was my introduction to Gigan and I'll most definitely be going through their Discography.

Well the main difference is that the Judas Priest album was good and this isn’t. Gigan haven’t been that impressive since Quasi-Hallucinogenic anyway.

Is that how your taste works? You wait for some music critic - or in this case, random fan - to make a logically persuasive argument? I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything. Taste is subjective. You like what you like. This isn’t politics. It’s art.

I don’t have an axe to grind. Even the Blood Incantation album that almost everyone here loves (and rightfully so, in my opinion) is never going to come anywhere near Taylor Swift in popularity. But is that going to bother any of us? I don’t care for her music, but it’s also not aimed at someone like me. Gigan isn’t for someone like you. It’s not meant as an insult, but sadly that doesn’t mean that people won’t take it that way.

I have never listened to this band before, JayMo4 & Oldy86, but I am going to do it right now, because you both got me intrigued. It's on Willowtip, like Ingurgitating Oblivion, whose latest album is great.

This statement is definitely bs. People don't have to convince you for either their ratings or their tastes.

This is dope. Gigan is dope. I'll spin it more before I land a rating but that's some fun stuff right there.

Ok, just finished first listen. It's wild and not the stuff I usually listen to, but I appreciate the artistry. The last track is superb.

Tremendous work by Gigan, sometimes it gets repetitive with the smashes but when they incorporate the interstellar psychotic creative quota the climate becomes posthumous, it's like spinning inside a totally frenetic storm of ionic charge. Honestly, your wig blows your mind.

All I hear is a cacophony that bleed songs into each other. Too much intense experimentation is leading nowhere except to painfully go through it and getting fatigued.

As BCI said, it's a proper headache.

I'm not totally mind-blown but at the same time I definitely wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do, with disso/tech death not really being my cup of tea and all. It's definitely not an easy listen by means, I find some of the structures simply baffling in a weak Gorguts/Deathspell Omega kinda way, but there's also glimpses of quality musicianship. The drumming is definitely the main highlight for me but every now and then there's some unexpected guitar work that creeps in and makes me think wow that was actually pretty impressive.

It's not something I can see myself revisiting often as it requires a lot of patience and understanding and I haven't always got the capacity of that, but I appreciate what's gone into crafting this.
