All Shall Perish |
-I'm sure that not all of our readers are familiar with your band, so could you please introduce your band in a few sentences?
We are All Shall Perish, a collective of 5 musicians who are ready to show you what heavy music really is. So get your ass off of the couch and start breakdancing.
- Hate.Malice.Revenge is your debut full length release. How have the reaction been from the audience, the magazines etc. for this album?
The reaction has been tremendous. Some magazines are calling HATE MALICE REVENGE album of the year, which makes all of us feel pretty darn spiffy. As for the crowds at the shows, We couldn't be happier with the response. We have played Hardcore Shows, Metalcore shows, Death Metal, Crust, Punk, Emo.. you name it all the scenes seem to embrace the music of All Shall Perish with open arms. The kids from the various genres seem to be really polite to one-another at our gigs, which is different.
-Hate.Malice.Revenge was first released through a Japanese label called Amputated Vein. How come you ended up with a deal with them? I guess this also means you must have lots of fans in Japan too, any plans for releasing a "Japanese bonus track" or something like that?
Ampulated Vein discovered us on Mp3.com back when the Internet was still cool. They were the only label to have faith in us at the time, and helped fund the recording of HMR as well as the first initial pressing. Beyond that, we had very little communication with the label, and actually have no idea how sales were in Japan. That would be the shit if we went out there, and there were mobs of Perish fans!
Hate.Malice.Revenge
-You have signed to Nuclear Blast, which is one of the biggest records labels in the metal scene, and now they are re-releasing Hate.Malice.Revenge again. How do you think this will affect your future as a band?
HMR is an amazing record, and I am personally stoked that Nuclear Blast is interested in putting it out for the rest of the world to hear. I think this is really going to catapult the band into a position we have all dream of being in, and that is rocking huge shows in Europe and living to play the music we are so passionate about in front of large crazy crowds.
-What are your equipments?
Caysen and I both play through Marshall TSL 100 Marshall Heads. I play Ibanez guitars exclusively, and Caysen played Jackson.
-Nuclear Blast is also going to release an original motion picture soundtrack from the movie "Alone in the Dark" which also features your song deconstruction. Now let's think that Nuclear Blast gave you the mission to choose the songs for this soundtrack, what would your ultimate choice for the perfect extreme compilation/soundtrack be?
Dissection, Bleeding Through, Brujeria, Cryptopsy, Dillinger, Dimmu, Glass Casket, Hatebreed, Immortal, Heaven Shall Burn, Dying Fetus, GWAR, Suffocation, Opeth
-What bands have influenced you the most?
As a guitarist, growing up I have been extremely influenced by bands like Sepultura, Death, Opeth, and Suffocation.
-You have played along with many bands on your short time as a band. Which one did you enjoy playing with the most? Do you have any special memory from that gig?
The most enjoyable show for me personally was opening up for Brujeria. There was literally a sea of the craziest mother fuckers you had ever seen. Our friend Carlos from my old band ANTAGONY came out and introduced us in Spanish and yelled out "FUCK BUSH!" and the crowd started killing each other when we hit our first note. It was completely Orchestrated Chaos.
-Do you have any plans for a European tour?
Not yet, but believe me.. We couldn't think of anything we would rather do then get out to Europe. Hopefully after our first US tour this April, something will be in the woodwork.
- I read in your site that you are planning to release the next album in early 2006, have you already started working on the new album, or is it too early yet?
We have a couple tracks done, and a bunch more in the works.
- American death metal VS Swedish death metal, which one do you like more?
I listen to Swedish stuff more these days, but you can't deny the brutality of American DM. Damn it! I thought I could get threw this interview without saying a form of the word BRUTAL. who was I trying to kid?!
- Thank you for your time, I will leave the last words for you.
