You know, it rules to be human. We have one thing that sets us apart from the rest of the animals - vocabulary. Words make us self-sufficient in terms of entertainment, giving us the ability to mumble in madness. Lovely words like flowers, peace and tranquillity. Words like nuclear fire, black napalm and complete and utter, total devastation.
If you know Total Devastation, then you know that they deliver exactly what they promise - a ruthless attack, capable of shearing through reinforced steel. A wave of massive sound. Total Devastation are a fifty megaton hydrogen bomb on steroids. Ladies and Gentlemen, grab your ankles and kiss your asses goodbye as "Wreck" falls nothing short of eternal nuclear winter.
Audible terror requires vast amounts of skill in performance as well as songwriting if you want to expand across your borders. There's an ancient saying that goes "don't carpet bomb your own yard". A lot of brutal death/thrash bands appeal to a certain fanbase only, but I believe Total Devastation will spread to kill everything in the neighbourhood. "Wreck" seems to have a considerable stockpile of all sorts of weapons of mass ear infection. Let me introduce you to their tactic. They open with a fast guitar blitz, accompanied by a wrecking barrage from their double-bass battery. I bet you're thinking "Well it sounds like any other death metal band, right?" Wrong. I expect a major part of your braincells to survive the initial assault. But here's where the gauntlets come off to reveal an iron fist. The most fearsome riff known to man - the thermobaric chord. Comparatively slow, you can virtually see the sound and brace yourself for the impact - in vain. Nothing survives, bodily functions seize, total submission to Total Devastation. All hope is lost - you have been enslaved.
You may by now be hooked on Total Devastation, thinking "This is it man, game over!". How foolish of you to underestimate the power of this band. A naughty listener as you are you deserve a severe punishment - nuclear genocide. The Synthesizer from Hell paints a vile and an eerie picture of massive fallout. Contaminated speakers relay the message of a choir of dark angels. You laugh in lunacy. As a coup de grace, Total Devastation repeats all of the above.
You wake from your trance with a fearsome yell: "Death, I am your whore!" only to find all the people on the train staring at you. With an evil smirk and glowing green eyes, you pull a flamethrower from your bag and exclaim: "I am Wreck, bringer of doom and Total Devastation". The rest goes down in history as the single smallest spark ever to have started a global cataclysm.
