This is the first full-length album from Italian band Maledicta, and I must say that I'm impressed with the talent of these young metallers.
Maledicta could be described as Black Metal with some Symphonic and Avant-garde touches, mostly in the songwriting, since most of the songs are mid to fast paced, not the usual tempos we get from Black Metal bands.

The album starts with some electronic samples, and then "Neurosisma" builds up with great keyboards, excellent vocal delivery and tastefully done tempo changes, next is piano instrumental "Onaram Smoke" a sorrowful piece that serves as an introduction for "Destruction" one of my favorite tracks in the album, the song has some Trash Metal outbursts in each section of the chorus, which is an unexpected change, but very well received. Some other cool elements are dreamy keyboards on "The Dark Alchemy Of The Elements" some 80's Trash Metal influences in "Five Demons", also we got more electronic samples on "Traditional Neverending Friend" and some scary keyboards on "Eruptions From Insides".

I must say that the big winner on this album is the keyboard, the versatility and it's different forms lifts each song and makes the record quite unique, I wish every keyboard player has so much creativity as the one in Maledicta.

So, In a nutshell, Maledicta really tries to do something innovative here, so we must praise them for that, because when a band tries to create a unique style instead of copying existing ones, deserves a chance.
Maybe at the end Maledicta didn't create a piece of work that can be remembered for generations to come as a definitive genre-changing piece of work, but give them time, I think they're just warming up.
