When I listen to "LA Attraction" I have the feeling that we're all back in the 80's when Toto and company were the leaders of the rock scene. The problem is that we're in 2006 now, and the music of AOR sounds a bit old for me now. I will never say that the music of this album is bad or not really well interpreted because it's clearly not the case, but I'm sorry it sounds old and it's a bit boring for me at the end.

Frédéric Slama, the French guitarist, is the "head" of this concept. His project isn't a bad idea actually, with a lot of different singers on the album; Frédéric Slama decided to play a nice cool Progressive Rock. If you like Toto or Yes, I'm sure that you'll like this album. The guitars soli are terrific (really Frédéric Slama is a great musician) and in the style the songs are catchy and their melodies are beautiful. But let's be honest, for someone who likes some good old powerful Hard Rock or Metal, it's a bit weak?

Plus even if the general production and recording are good, I'm extremely bored by the 80's sound of the keyboards. Really a lot of time I had the feeling that I was listening to an album produced during the 80's and well nowadays I think that it could be a good idea to use some "modern" instruments, if you see what I mean. It's just a little problem but I'm sure that a lot of people will agree with me and I'm sure that it will be like a real "musical wall" for some young people that could be interested to listen to this kind of music. That's a bit sad?

Nostalgic, nostalgic people, "LA Attraction" is probably for you. In any way this release is a bad one but it's just out of date in my opinion (and a bit soft and boring at the end). But if you like such music I'm sure that you'll find a lot of good things in this album, in the style it's all but not bad.
