Like Lucassen with Ayeron or Star One, Consortium Project is the project of a Dutch musician, Ian Parry. You probably know this singer through his own personal other project the Ian Parry Solo Band, but most probably with the famous Elegy. "Children Of Tomorrow" is the 8th released of the Consortium Project and without being perfect, I can tell you that it is a good release of Progressive Metal.

If you like project with a ton of musicians, if you like the "Dutch touch" in Metal and of course if you like Prog Metal, "Children Of Tomorrow" is for you. I will not compare it to the different projects of Arjen Lucassen because even if the form is the same, the content is really different. Here, you'll listen to a pure album of Progressive Metal, the songs can be heavy and loud and also really melodic but always complex with a lot of variations. It's not something a la Dream Theater though but a bit more like Beyond Twilight, though here it's a lot simpler. But the songs are well done and catchy and the alternation between the voice of Ian and the voices of the other singers (all are female singers) is convincing. "Children Of Tomorrow" is an album of easy of access Progressive Metal.

As you probably guess, "Children Of Tomorrow" is a concept album and talk about a planet in the future where people, especially the heads of countries don't care about its health (pollution etc). A group of "heroes" will try to save it. It' s a really important topic and since that it's well written a lot of people will find a real interest in it.

But what's the problem of this album then? Well, with time, "Children Of Tomorrow" can become a bit boring and not so catchy. Plus, it really looks on a side like a new copy of the tons of other projects that we can find in The Netherlands. It's not bad at all, the performance of all the musicians and singers is really good, but in the end it's not so magic and can be a bit weak unfortunately.

"Children Of Tomorrow" is a good album but not a perfect one too. This is this kind of release that you'll listen to sometime but that you'll forget soon or later. Though, it's a nice piece of music so if you like this kind of music and projects from The Netherlands, have a look on it, after all this is probably for you anyway.
