"Made In Hell" is the first album of Retribuiton, a band from Poland which uses to play some kind of modern Thrash Metal a la Machine Head or Lamb Of God. Their first album is clearly not original, I mean that they're not the first band which plays this kind of music but all in all, it's nice to listen to "Made In Hell" and anyway, some Thrash Metal (even if it's not something a la Exodus) never hurts right? So, let's have a look on this release!

The music of Retribution is a bit simple on a side. Of course we have some guitars soli but all in all it's modern Thrash and it's more a matter of big heavy riffs than anything else. This is catchy for sure and perfect to headbang, plus the melodies and the riffs are really effective but let's be honest, even if the music and the musicians are correct, this is also a bit repetitive and sometime you'll have the feeling that you're listening again and again the same song. That's the real problem of "Made In Hell" (like a lot of modern Thrash bands), it's well done and catchy in general but also a bit boring in the end. Though "Made In Hell" is not a bad album, really, but the band will have to add something else to their music in the future if they want to be a bit more original and attractive for the people who use to listen to Thrash Metal. Right now, this is bit too much like Soulfly or Machine Head (the albums between "The More Things Change" and "The Blackening"). It's a matter of taste of course but if you like classic Thrash, I don't think that "Made In Hell" will be the perfect release for you.

"Made In Hell" is a long release and you have thirteen tracks on this CD. With a great production (really the Polish studios and producers are really good nowadays) Retribution doesn't suffer of any comparisons with the American combos which are the leaders of the genre. In the end, the album only suffers of its lack of originality and its linearity but if you like modern Thrash I'm sure that you'll like some of the songs of the release.

"Made In Hell" is not a revelation but that's a good thing that Metal Mind chose to re-release the album to give a chance to the band to find some fans out of Poland. That's right, the album is a bit repetitive but the songs work in general and it's pleasant to listen to this album. If you like Modern Thrash, have a look on the first release of Retribution, I'm sure that you'll find something for you in this release!
