Lyrics are the one thing I never cared about in music, rarely do I ever check them out and most of the time they don't really add much to the experience for me
Sometimes I might want to delve into lyrics that can be moving and deeply poetic, but then I might just want to hear about various ways to butcher someone to pieces. The joys of extreme metal.
I can listen to a song and not understand what they're saying at all, but then soon as I watch the lyric video after on YouTube, it makes me feel dumb for not realizing what it was they were saying haha.
@Andy I was listening to Panopticon's new album today and noticed how little lyrics mean to me until I read them from a booklet. only then can I start making out words in the vocals
