Depends what kind you listen to. Hammerfall, Stratovarius, etc aren't cheesy at all. Sonata, though, I admit may seem a bit "cheesy" in some of their songs. For the most part, its opinion wise in determining what's good, bad, "cheesy" etc. I for one hate death metal. Can't stand those growls , which is why I like the clear vocals of power metal. You may think power metal's cheesy, I think Death metal's ugly.

If opinions didn't vary, we would've been robots!!
Sonata Arctica is very cheesy. I listened to their Ecliptica yesterday, and it's so cheesy. It's tr00 that death metal's ugly. I tried to get into it a lot, and I succeeded, but power metal, no. I tried Sonata Arctica and I have to admit that they don't make the cut for me. Too cheesy. How about some help?

"Last man standing" and "Any means necessary" by Hammerfall.
"Are you Metal", "The Departed (sun is going down)" by Helloween.
"Damn the Machine", "Rebellion in Dream Land" by Gamma Ray

Well, thanks I'll check these out soon. BTW I hated Sonata's lyrics. Complete crap. However, I like lyrics about dragons and magic and such stuff... I'm a fantasy nerd.
