Summoning - Stronghold (atmospheric black) and My Dying Bride - The Light at the End of the World (death/doom) should definitely be in this list. Personally I'd also include:
- Dimmu Borgir - Spiritual Black Dimensions (symphonic black)
- Tristania - Beyond the Veil (symphonic gothic)
- Estatic Fear - A Sombre Dance (symphonic doom)
- Galadriel - The Mirror of Ages (symphonic doom)
- Graveworm - As Angels Reach the Beauty (symphonic black)

Hmm, you'd think I like symphonic metal, seeing these albums?
