Top Metal Albums Each Year I Have Been Alive, 1988

A little list series where I list my top 20 favorite metal albums every year starting from the year I was born in.

Man this list was a rough one, but in a good way 1988 is one of the best years in metal history and a lot of great release came out that year, cutting it down to just 20 was tough and ranking them was even harder.

1. Queensrÿche - Operation: Mindcrime
2. Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part II
3. Bathory - Blood Fire Death
4. Candlemass - Ancient Dreams
5. Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

Welcome to what I consider the "Metal Bible" or in other words, a list of records of various genres in the arrays of Metal and Hard Rock that I deem essential or at least very recommended to listeners of hard and heavy music. This may be a very overwhelming list but I essentially try to collect all albums in the History of Metal that strike me as worthwhile. May this be a guideline for people that seek for an entrance to a particular genre or certain bands. In no means I am saying, that this list is indisputable by any means. I consider these my personal picks for albums that should be listened to by die-hard metal fans at least once. Hopefully you can discover some new music or relate with my picks. If I missed something that you would include in such a list, please tell me in the form of a comment. Enjoy! \,,/

1. High Tide - Sea Shanties
2. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
3. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
4. Sir Lord Baltimore - Kingdom Come
5. Josefus - Dead Man

Iron Maiden My Ranking 2022

BEFORE LISTENING : Its now about 9 month after the last maiden album and i think its a good time to revisit all the maiden's album and establish my ranking of my heavy metal's favourite band. I decided to listen to all the 2015 remastered in 24 bits since i got all of them. I also decided to start from the 90's up to senjutsu first because the first period is the best and i didn-t want to be grading each title having the classic period in mind. I'm sure many people will have a different view than mine but this list is presenting the ranking in my current mood. To have a global ranking i gave a grade for each track from 1 to 6 then made the average on 20 for each. the next step will start from the beginning up to 7th son.

1. Iron Maiden - Powerslave
2. Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
3. Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
4. Iron Maiden - Brave New World
5. Iron Maiden - Senjutsu

Metal Albums Ranked From WORSHIP To DISLIKE

Ratings go from:

WORSHIP ❤️❤️❤️: Absolute greatness, a mindblowing album.
LOVE ❤️❤️🖤: Amazing release with very few flaws.
LIKE ❤️🖤🖤: Enjoyable but far from perfect.
DISLIKE 💔: Not very good or maybe not fitting my tastes.

I've decided to stop rating albums with a numerical value as I tend to feel uncomfortable with that. This list has a minimalistic, subjective and visceral approach, based purely on sensations and personal tastes. Mainly for personal use and doesn't pretend to be a serious ranking, but emerges from the need to remember which bands and albums I enjoyed and the ones I disliked. I constantly revisit new releases so first impressions may change over time. It usually takes 8-10 spins for me to get completely sure of a rating.

1. Æther Realm - Tarot
2. Abhoria - Abhoria
3. Acid Bath - When The Kite String Pops
4. Agrypnie - Metamorphosis
5. Allegaeon - Fragments Of Form And Function

Iron Maiden Ranked 1980-2021

All time favorite band, Iron Maiden, was the first heavy metal band I heard with the album Killers in early eighties. Today I found myself making a ranking of their discography. No one can deny the first 10 years was the golden years of the band and the records are in the top of every list , after that the band still making great songs even with Blaze Bayley and Im still believe that he done a great job and he deserved more attention and respect…
so , no bad records just my personal taste of one of the greatest bands of heavy metal

1. Iron Maiden - PowerSlave
2. Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
3. Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
4. Iron Maiden - Killers
