You know the drill. Here's some rather fine sounding Cthulhu driven death metal that's not due for release until 2013, with extraordinarily beautiful cover artwork (check out the detail in the full image):
They are in the very same wave-length. It's very ehmm... unusual (for lack of better word) to have such a different opinion from one and the other.
I like both but agree with Joe... The Inexistenz one is slightly better for me.

Well in my opinion the nice 'whirl' going on in the Agalloch's calming artwork just works a lot better than the shady 'lines and stuff... and the boring snipeman's house' -thing. Even the sticks are cooler on the AGA.
Yeah, technique and colours seems very much alike, but I gotta say the Inexistenz cover looks far more intriguing and gloomy than the Agalloch cover. With Inexistenz, you feel right in the middle of the scene and the colours make your eyes explore the painting, Aggaloch...not so much.

I really like this. Only a 4 track EP but it's some great and spastic math metal with a lot of personality. Vocalist kinda makes me think what the love child of Patton and Tankian (and maybe the singer from Yakuza) might sound like.
Ok, could only find a teaser for this but I highly recommend tracking this down. Highly technical, frantic and intense instrumental "djent" in the vein of Meshuggah I suppose only with a pronounced progressive and jazz bent, though this blows anything they've done out the water in recent times. This is a must have record, the latter half of the teaser gives an impression of what most of it is like.
Some groovy blackish death metal. Quite decent.
Some dissonant and disparate black metal. Quite interesting.
And some more blackened death why not. With a goatse cover as well.
Hugely fun stonery heavy metal with a Clutch vibe (to me anyway).
And of course the new leaked Portal record, which needs no introduction.
For any fans of Korn, make sure you check out Love and Death's (Head's brainchild) debut, "Between Here & Lost!" It sounds like Korn in their prime, maybe a bit more melodic.
I've been falling out of love with most modern death metal recently but this is pretty good. The prog and sparse electronic elements keep it relatively interesting. Favorite track would have to be FIIIX 2.0
"New" Pagan Altar album. This is basically Volume I but has been remastered and released with the correct album name and artwork from back in 1982. Needless to say it's worth getting.
Wormlust, rather intense, thick and discordant sounding black metal with some expansive and spooky ambient passages. Pretty darn nice stuff, probably the most interesting black metal I've heard so far this year. Definitely some Mories' inspiration / likeness here. And that artwork. Damn.

Sweet, The Phantom Carriage have released their second album. Basically a great mix of hardcore / screamo and some crazy black metal. The cheeky beggars even put "Deathspell Omega" in the tags on their bandcamp page.
They may be NSBM but to me Fanisk have always been far far ahead in terms of their music than other NSBM outfits. The new one sounds like it'll be pretty fine too.

YES! 7 years after Noontide. This should be fucking awesome. Love these guys.

I think it's been 10 years. Looking forward to the whole release
Thought Noontide was released in 2006?
