i was looking through this forum and found that many people like music which i consider shit. nothing wrong with that, but it made me curious as to what do people on here truly despise.

i, for one, hate improvisational jazz mainly, when the only one who isn't soloing is the drummer playing in 17/13 time signature a 32-bar rhythm.. sure, you're technical, but.... no emotion in your playing, therefore YOU SUCK!

The lyrics are also obviously a masterpiece, crafted by clearly the finest wordsmith of our time.

Sorry man, I was to busy listening to the... sounds coming from my speakers with a "What the fuuuuck?" expression on my face to notice their hair.
I promise though, next time I feel extremely masochistic and decide to play this... song, I'll pay more attention to their looks.

Talking about their sounds... Holy fuck that guitar noise "wuuuuuuit! wiiiiiiiu!" was annoying as all hell....

I can't tell if the 'vocalist' with the dyed blonde hair is male or female. Although I honestly thought that the pointless technical stuff at the begining had potential to be decent.

Well in the general scene I'd say I can't stand pop music... for example, Lady Gaga, Kesha, Katy crappy, Rihorny.. all this stuff not really into

On the metal side...: I'd say proply that weird twitch metal thing that I can't stand, along with porngrind or whatever its called... most deathcore some are decent and nu metal obviously.

Dude it's like one band, not exactly a genre.

I'd still take nu-metal over most thrash and death metal these days. At least with nu-metal people realise it's dead on its feet so most of it has a great value of nostalgia, rather than still churning out cookie-cutter crap death and thrash and still declaring it as innovative.

I'm not searching for innovative metal necessarily, I want a good sound, good riffs, good execution and originality. I don't mind if they're innovative or not, I listen to a band cos I like its sound but whatever if it is one band or more... I simply don't like this twitch band it annoys me

Well you're in luck as most metal bands don't take on glitch (though twitch sounds better) ;] I wouldn't mind a couple more though to see where they could take it... I need my death metal to do something different otherwise it just doesn't register with me

well there is good death metal that are not doing like the old bands... still not innovative but eh they're great. I mean look at the TDM scene, Quo Vadis, Arsis, Anata, Spawn of Possession... and many more. Not the typical death at all

I've never been all that over Quo Vadis but I definitely get the appeal. Arsis (when they get it right) and the almighty Anata are definitely examples of excellent modern DM though. There's definitely innovation in death metal but it's a lot harder to find it than other genres.

Why do I get the feeling that most people who single out techno out of all EDM does not actually have a fucking clue about what techno is.

On topic: The so called electro house.

I don't mind electro and I can tolerate house but this fusion genre is something I never heard a single decent track from. It is the single most typical mainstream club music genre with horribly unimaginative, bland and intolerably artificial vocals spewing useless lyrics. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adGVpCsf9N4

Seems to be limited to this one genre though, I absolutely love a lot of EDM genres especially dubstep, tech trance and psytrance.

Indie Rock. Oh God, do I despise indie rock. Horrible sound cuality, awful songwriting, unimaginative lyrics, the worst possible album artwork, ridiculous prices in stores and above all - calling yourself indie when the release of your latest album is covered on the evening news. I'd take Hip Hop, RnB and even fathermocking trance a thousand times before I listen to any more of those Satan spawns known as indie rock bands.

I try not to hate any genre since i wanna give everything a chance.
But the only genre i just can't get into and start to hate more and more is Dubstep! Everytime i hear it i get f*cking angry for some reason, and not in a good way...
What i hate even more about it are the fans, especially a bunch of people from my class.
They were metalheads before, at least i thought so. Then all of a sudden they all had to "expand their musical views", which apparently meant thinking dubstep is the only good inovative genre in the world and everything else, especially metal is all just utter shite!
Bunch of fucking hipster bastards...

Ew! I am not a fan of dubstep either man, it's the thing nowadays that a lot of people say they like just because everyone else does. It's very mainstream but for some reason the people at my school seem to think that it's so much better than the average pop. It's just the same kind of bullshit people. People can be just like sheep sometimes. And sheep, they are stupid animals.

Dubstep is like metal (or practicall any other genre of music) in the sense that the mainstream and the underground is extremely different. I don't know what do you call dubstep but what I like is absolutely not mainstream at all and I'd say it is very decent.

'Cuz they soooo cute and awsm and we luv them sooo much ^-^

In all seriousness, though, they are really fascinating to me. You see some crappy shit out there, but something like this happens only once in many years.
In a way, they are more unique than 90% of good bands.

Agree. It's a similar feeling when you are taking a shit and when youm are done and look at it. It turns out that it's such an unusual creation in terms of form or colours that you want to tell someone.... It's shit, but a special one.
