That feeling and sign when sun sets at 23:39 and rise at 00:35 and next time it will set is after 2 months is amazing. Only Norwegian waXXXr clouds can ruin it.
Has anyone been to a Vektor show? I'm wondering whether it would be worth going to see Vektor when they come to Germany in October. Their split with cryptosis makes me think that the vocals might not be as good as they used to be

I wasn't aware of this band, but I was gonna see them live as they're being supported by The Agonist. In the city where I live in currently, there's zero metal shows, so this would have been the equivalent of seeing Beyoncé at the Madison Square Garden. Anyway, long story short, it took listening to this album once, and not even until the very end, to resell my ticket. That godawful french accent in those breathy cringy cleans was enough to deter me from going to the gig.

It's because she doesn't modify her voice compared to her natural way of speaking and so the accent spills through like a tidal wave. Probably what you would sound like if you only elongated your phrases in a vocalizing way but not trying to alter your accent at all Assuming she has a voice coach, that's a fairly easy kink to iron out with practicing her mouth form, so maybe the next time you have a chance to catch them live she'll have worked on that.

I don't know why I thought she was French? She's Ukrainian. Anyway, bad accent. It takes me away from the fantasy of listening to someone sing, and I keep wondering what the hell they're saying and why it sounds so weird.
To be honest I had no idea why this happens. I am famous in some karaoke bars for not knowing anything about singing. I find it to be a very common flaw. So thanks for explaining that. Plus it seems there's some sort of phenomenon where a lot of people who could be great singers (like this person) get influenced by the 90s divas, so they attempt a vocal style they should have practiced and trained for decades. So you get this mix between a bad accent and the awkward breaths everywhere meddled with the forced vocalisations à la Aguilera. And that is a complete turn off right away for me, it screams a very specific kind of amateurism mixed with arrogance - even if there's a lot of raw talent.
I don't understand all the dislike for the accent. I love that she doesn't modify her speaking voice, gives her a unique sound and makes the music feel like there are real people performing. Having her modify her voice to sound like everyone else would make this band significantly worse.
That said, this album is not even close to one of their best records. It feels like they used up all of their better songs on Micro and threw a lot of filler onto Macro. The last 2 tracks feel like they were supposed to be Ape and Perennial, but since they were on Micro, they had to change them up a little. To make it worse, the second single, On The Top, is a lyrical nightmare.
There is some good stuff though. Judgement and Punishment is going to be a classic Jinjer song and I love that Tatiana uses her native language at the beginning of Retrospection too.
Highlights: Judgement and Punishment, Pit Of Consciousness, Home Back.
