Along with the upcoming Saturnus, this is probably my most anticipated 2022 album so far.

I've been watching this project for quite a while now because I really loved their debut and There Is No God, but my initial curiosity about a somehow familiar-sounding but rather obscure band with an unknown line-up has turned into sheer excitement since I know that the mastermind of Kanonenfieber is also behind this project.

Does anyone know why it sometimes happens that an album is said to be released on a certain date, but doesn't actually become available on that date? This is the latest example I've found - the Bandcamp page says that the album is released today, but it's not on Spotify, there's only 2 songs available to stream on Bandcamp, and the page still says that one can only pre-order the digital album

I have no idea, but I was wondering the exact same thing. I had to wait almost five months for Crypts's debut before they finally enabled a full download, and their label didn't even bother to respond to public complaints.
Anyway, Impious can be streamed now. Whatever they did, they did it three and a half hours ago and also my pre-ordered digipak CD arrived right on time, the package was in the mailbox this morning.

Oh this is so good. I love this Noise guy, he makes black metal that resonates with me on every level.
I also love Lewandowski but the use of his art for metal album covers has become too much.

Holy crap those riffs are at another level I've never even heard of this band before, but damn I'm going to be following them intensely from now on, those melodies are almost at Rotting Christ standards.

I'm amazed at how well the lyrics are put together, not to mention how memorable the music is. It's not often I connect to a black metal album but this got me. Really excellent material; I hope it gets the recognition it deserves. "Save Us" might be my favorite album opener this year so far.

This is simple and effective black metal. Somehow reminded me of Yoth Iria's debut. Killer riffs, banger songs. A hell of a fun album, well done.

Thanks for the recommendation, I checked the band out, not what I expected, but still pretty damn good.

Most underrated black metal of the year? Probably.

I'm not exactly the world's foremost black metal aficionado, but I think this is pretty sweet.
