An excellent start to one of the best rock bands of all time. Not only that, but an astounding memory of the late, great Jon Lord's talents as keyboardist and a history lesson in Ritchie Blackmore's beginnings, whose guitar really seems to harmonize well with Lord's keyboards. The vocals in general aren't particularly outstanding but they still do a good job in welcoming the Blues and Psychedelic influences into the band's Rock style. 'Mandrake root' is brilliant in focusing fully on the enigmatic drum work and Lord's swirling keyboards, and opening instrumental 'And the address' is very memorable minutes after it's been played. Although the album may sound dated now, 45 years after its release, it is recommended to those who love 60's Blues/Psyechelic Rock, as well as those looking for an interesting start to Deep Purple's career.

Not the typical DP album. It's hard to compare this material to what is known as the "classic" DEEP PURPLE material, because the musical styles don't quite match. All of the songs are good, no fillers at least, but One More Rainy Day and Hey Joe seem stand out as little better.
My only real complainment here is: why there has to be as much as half of the songs covers? They're good, but why not just play somethjing more original?

I dontb like such music more today, I can listen sometimes, but now I like deep metal, anyway those times are gone. Many listens metal, many listens oldies, but not many what likes oldies listes metal as we do and another way around.
Classics are dead in small way.
In those days albums was written in jamming way, different song different structure and length. Then beer and lyrics, maybe not best poetical lyrics but they fitts. Its still 60's jamming, not so best instrumental work in this album. seems they just wanted play because other bands did. They went well, because future we all know it.
Best songs Hush and Hej Joe. One More Rainy Day also are ok, rest is below DP level, but its one of first bands so

Half are covers because they were trying to do what Vanilla Fudge were doing, playing covers in the unique heavy-psyche way, story goes George Harrison was listening to VF, a Beatles cover and he barely recognized what it was.
The most interesting songs here is Prelude: Happiness and Mandrake Root.
Most covers DP ever did in those early years are much better, interesting than the original songs.

That song is boring, bad lyrics, same thing same time. So i know they made better albums, but its still better as whole 90s shit from this band

That's just your opinion (hope you can make the difference between fact and opinion).
You don't like Mandrake Root? Well, I love that song.
Also, I don't think DP has ever released anything I'd call "shit". Do you like the word or do you think you are tough and cool if you use it or what?!

Mandrake Root is good. I was considering should I mention it originally as a favourite but decided to go with One More Rainy Day only instead, I guess the instrumental part makes MR a little bit lesser of a song to me. Still it's a strong, more of a psychedelic piece.
The album however is bit of disappointment like almost all rock albums released in 1968, 1969 is where the good stuff is

it's both funny and a bit annoying you complaining about lyrics when your English is mostly bad.
I disagree again with what you say. You may not like some DP music, but don't make others (better said me) feel like crap because of that.
