I had a phase when I checked out all sorts of folk metal bands and this was one of the forgettable ones. Unfortunately this album doesn't change anything. Still feels like I can't get into any parts at all. It's a shame

Since days I like this band, not sure why but I think there is something magical whit Dutch language and it makes this album stand higer.

A pretty solid folk metal album, this band reminds me of Moonsorrow only not as much of an epic scale as those. The vocals perhaps could have been mixed better in imo, they seem to overpower the great instrumentation, and the chants unfortunately get too much at times. Some of the softer folk instrumentation is magnificent though.

I agree about vocals, but then like I said some Dutch language magic made it sound still good. How many bands we know sing in dutch, not so many as we know whit out searching.

That's true I like how some bands choose to use lyrics in their mother tongue instead of English, it makes it feel more genuine, it's I still a shame they overpower the instruments otherwise I wouldn't have found any issue here.

To me maybe its germanic thing, sounds still similar as English

I was super unimpressed by the the beginning of this record, particularly the vocals, but it does grow in stature a bit as it progresses; I'd say De Strijd Duurt Voort is the moment where I started decently appreciating it

The music is interesting and the overall effort of the band with all the arrangements is quite good. Unfortunately for me, the vocals add an unpleasant layer. It isn't so bad at the beginning but after a few tracks of that same monotone sound, it makes the songs sound all the same.
