This is a very underrated album if you ask me, so don't let the relatively low rating fool you. Definitely one of the best albums of OMC; basically every song is great. An 8.5/10 from me.

Very decent album, probably my favourite by OMC. Hominis Nocturna is basically one of the songs that introduced me to Black Metal.

I really have to reiterate what everyone else is saying here and say this truly is Underrated. Dare I say their heaviest album? I get 7.8 is a solid score but if you compare it to the rest of the albums it really should be in the low 8s at least. Fantastic album

This is probably a bizarre comparison, but the song "Phantoms Of Mortem Tales" sounds like a black metal Oingo Boingo. Not just in the upbeat bouncy riffs in the verses, but the melody at the 4:35 mark sounds like something you'd hear in any Oingo Boingo track. I love Oingo Boingo, so I found this track to be unexpectedly enjoyable.
