I got this band added to the database when I discovered The Human Condition in 2021. Them releasing a new abum was a nice surprise since I didn't know it was coming, so thank you YouTube algorithm for the suggestion. This is also way more enjoyable than a new Mechina album would've been. On this album they've gone full instrumental which isn't that surprising since they also released an instrumental version of The Human Condition. This is still some really nice djent even if I would've preferred some vocals too. It's cool though to get something else other than black metal or Skálmöld out of Iceland. And that album cover puts me in a good mood. 2024 kicks off nicely.

I can't help but think S.W.N.P.L. is an acronym for Swan People.

This is pretty well crafted and I actually find some of it quite enjoyable, but I've always found this type of djenty metalcore to better suit an instrumental without the vocals anyway.

Yeah it’s not bad but I can only enjoy so much of this instrumental djent that doesn’t have much unique to offer

I'm still surprised this kind of music has not faded away yet.

I find this instrumental djent style ok in small doses, but your also right in saying this doesn't offer anything unique. Despite the great musicianship performance I still can't see myself listening to it all that often over the course of the year.

This is the biggest thing for me, I don’t think I would ever revisit this over other Progressive Djent bands like TesseracT, Cloudkicker, Plini, Animals As Leaders or the myriad of other bands in a similar style. It’s that I don’t like it it’s just another drop in the bucket of a style that is already pretty saturated with talented acts

I think with this album, the lack of vocals hurts it a lot mainly because there's not anything unique in their instrumental-playing. People/bands like David Maxim Micic, Sithu Aye, Cloudkicker, AAL have all got flairs to their instrumentals that make them recognizable without vocals on top, but this record has a sound that could have been made by a hundred or more bands. It's likeable enough as a background listen for me, and some of the songs I reckon with some vocals to add something in the way of hooks or structure could begin to stand out, but as it is there's nothing here to make it worth listening to them over any similar bands

You always sum up my thoughts much better than I do
