I get second hand embarrassment when bands try to emulate other extremely successful artists. These guys sit in their rooms all day listening to Deafheaven and Liturgy, and then pretend we’re not going to notice them blatantly ripping off that sound with no additional creativity.

I almost totally agree.
But I actually enjoy this and the one before, not bad at all. I would rather have a new early/mid sounding Dh album but as that doesnt happen this is slightly, tiny better than nothing.
(and there is some americana in this, to spice things up)

Definitely, it's not offensive enough to be "bad". If you're really into that sound, this is a welcome addition.
