Somehow dissonant death metal always seems to lean closer to the tech death side rather than the prog death side of the more intricate versions of death metal. That's not the case with Convulsing's Perdurance.

Solid album, predominantly blackened death but with proggy aspirations on certain songs. The 12-minute closer Endurance is definitely the best track, the way it sprawls out into this intense yet atmospheric soundscape of blackened yet uplifting chords in the closing minutes is really excellent

Yep, a pretty solid release this. It's some almighty powerful crushing dissonant blackened death, with an immensely powerful tone and some decent nasty, gnarly death growls to match the quality of the music perfectly, and it's all the work of one man! I really like it.

This release took a bit longer to "click" for me than his previous two. Might be due to the more progressive elements and how they were incorporated, but this album, as well as the previous two are worth checking out if you are a fan of the dissonant sound. Love everything this guy puts out.

Not nearly as good as Grievous.

Agreed, I'm listening to it as I speak right now, and as much as I like Perdurance that album is an absolute beast.

This is great dissonant DM, almost as good as their previous output. The drum work is excellent.
