As numerous as the melodic black and melodic death metal bands of the world are, the overlap between the two styles has not been explored as extensively as one might anticipate. Albums as mesmerizing as Oubliette’s Eternity Whispers raise the question of why more bands aren’t ploughing this fertile ground.

Really digging this - kinda between meloblack and melodeath (maybe more so the former), enjoying it about as much as anything else released in either genre this year

Very cool melodic black metal record for this year. The production is going to turn some people off due to its modernity, but I don't mind. Awesome riffs. Amazing closing song.

This is a great album this, and a lot more melancholic than I expected. It's definitely one of the better melodeath/meloblack releases I've heard this year.

I do like the way this is produced, guitars sound very crisp and clear. Not sure what exactly has been done to the vocals, but they sound very big and echoy (I should be able to articulate this better considering I studied music production) which I quite like. One of the better meloblack/death albums I've heard this year.

I have conflicting feelings regarding this one. On the one hand, I really like the songwriting, it’s quite dynamic in intensity and speed for a meloblack album, has very good drum parts, and some great riffs. On the other hand, I get hearing fatigue after 2 minutes listening to it.. I initially thought I was on a bad day when I first listened to it, but it happened again each time I played it, with different speakers / earplugs. I’m not really able to pinpoint what is causing it, but my best guess is that the mids are too crowded, most of it is happening there I feel. Maybe the guitars could be higher, the bass lower ? Or maybe I’m talking shit completely.. ? Anyhow, it makes this album a hard listen for me unfortunately.
