Towards the end of last year, I reviewed a debut album from a Polish post-metal band that had me thinking of Obscure Sphinx, and left me pondering just what those guys were up to these days. Right on cue, they’re back with a bang.

It’s too short… Only 29 minutes.

Yeah, it turned out to be EP. Still glad to see the band alive and kicking.

True dat

I really like the chorus sung in Polish in the second track. I hope they use it more often in the future. Solid stuff.

I would have much preferred a full-length offering but this is a great EP that could well prove to be some of the finest sludge/post-metal to be heard this year. The last track is glorious!

My favorite band in the genre. Absolutely captivating, in no small part due to Wielebna's vocal magic. Her inner Lisa Gerrard shines through like never before.

Honestly, I don't mind it being an EP. I guess I just tried to process more new music than I could take last year, and this mini-album simply begs for repeated listens without being overwhelming. And the band has already teased a follow-up on their socials anyway

On my 3rd listen and this is definitely putting aside "Void Mother". Not hyping, this ep has crushed it all along. With Void, I still felt that vocals was scratching me off the bit and was rusty derailing the record, but here the setup was great.

Didn't do a lot for me on the first listen, but I'll give it another whirl this evening.

Is this a coincidence that Blindead and Obscure Sphinx both returned from the hiatus with a 3-track EP that makes our desire for more? I don't think so

First track was great, the other two didn’t really do much for me. May need to give it another spin…

Edit: after another listen, it did grow on me. The last track in particular. The ending is to the last track is pretty epic I will admit.
