Overshadowed by their previous album, but still very consistent throughout.

The second album where they play epic/doom rather than '70s influenced hard rock/heavy metal. It is indeed overshadowed by its predecessor, but One Foot In Hell is at least equal to King Of The Dead. Worth checking out!

I like this album a lot. I know it's not for everybody though, even for me it took some years to really appreciate these songs. To sum it up: the songs are definitely good, straightforward metal with no fillers. Also the production is very good, which plays a huge part on this album and frankly I wouldn't rate the album so high if the production/sound was different.

Maybe best from this band, its epic, its classic, its heavy, its 80's and also this weird voice, somehow good studio work, if King diamond had this it would be awesome.
Basic good one, I like it, best. Each song can be hit and needs 80's mtv music video.

With One Foot in Hell, Cirith Ungol continues the epic/doom journey they put into high gear in their previous album. And certainly, at its highest points it matches King of the Dead. However unlike that album, One Foot in Hell doesn't feel quite as consistently great. The first half of the album plus the last song are very good, but the other 3 songs feel not bad per se, just a little uninspired. That said, 5/8 songs is not too shabby.

I'd rate this album as a solid 8.
