Black Metal is admittedly a difficult genre for me to get into. Long-held notions of what is "tr00" and "kvlt" have served as straitjackets for many who choose this medium, and the expectations of stricter fans have prevented many performers form breaking any new ground. Those bands who do try to expand the boundaries of the genre are scorned as posers.

Probably the best French black metal album of the 90s ! Plain fantastic album. Production, however, is pretty bad. I recommend you rather listen to the live album from 2019, or watch the live show (these are two different shows, sound is better on the live album)

By the late 90s so many bands had polished their black metal sound into some really good albums. The melody and song writing here is top notch.

Fantastic debut from one of the most overlooked bands in black metal. The atmosphere is so eerily good, the symphonic elements are crafted superbly, the riffs are infectiously melodic, and the vocals are so sinister perfectly fitting. When it comes to symphonic black metal I'd even rate this band higher than Dimmu Borgir, if not for Enthroned Darkness Triumphant anyway.
