Let me just start off by saying that I'm reviewing the U.S. version of this album, the one that DOES NOT have the added hidden bonus track. Now, having said that, Exodus welcomes some new members into the band on this effort. Paul Bostaph on drums formerly of Slayer, Testament, and Forbidden is replacing long time drummer Tom Hunting. Lee Atlus is now the other guitar player (formerly of Heathen and Angel Witch) replacing Gary Holt's longtime axe partner Rick Hunolt. And Rob Dukes is now the new permanent vocalist taking over for the departed Steve "Zetro" Souza. This is a very solid album, and one that will hopefully go a long way towards putting thrash metal back on top of the mountain. The sound was really clear and clean, especially the backline bass that shone through.

" Deathamphetamine " is gold

Agreed. One of the few great tracks on this album, maybe their best song of the last 20 years or more... I could barely stand Altered Boy, despite the nice pun there...

"Deathamphetamine" is the jewel in this album for sure. It stands up to their very best classic tracks. xD "Raze" and "Shudder To Think" are also tracks I love from it. "44 Magnum Opus" is definitely the song I like least, and is like a precursor to the monotony of many of the tracks from the follow up album. Far too long, generic riffing, and just dull overall.

I like this album quite a bit, but coming after the modern thrash classic that was "Tempo Of The Damned", I was definitely a bit let down by it.

There's something about the production that kind of suffocated its raw thrash energy, and the riffing wasn't really impressive either.

Disappointingly average thrash, no match for its predecessor. Seems like they exhausted their creativity while making TOTD.

Average affair for Exodus standard - Yes. They've produced gems which makes Shovel Headed very boring stuff.

But, if by other thrash standard(implying scene from 2000 to current) - very strong album.

A turd compared to ebola is still a turd.

Still not a great example you set for others, my friend.

I admit, it could have used some...refinement. What I'm saying is that no album should get bonus points just because everything else around it was worse.

I don't see a lot of good tracks here, only Deathamphetamine, Karma's Messenger and Altered Boy.
One of few bands scores here seem very strange to me. Pleasures of the Flesh is 2nd lowest rated and it's the best album to me.
