The Benighted
Very underrated Carcass-style death metal. Production is perfect for the sound and all of the songs are interesting.

Yeah this is more or less the best album of this style post-Carcass that I've heard (maybe a couple of others like Mondo Medicale and some General Surgery and Ghoul stuff also do pretty well).

Very good album indeed, it's brutal and melodic, and there's definitely some Carcass inspirations in here, both their old style and the new in fact. The vocals, riff melodies, drumming and bass patterns and even songwriting is similar to Carcass.

The album is not entirely consistent, the second half is stronger thdn the first imo, but there are some very impressive tracks like "Surgical Extravaganza", "Frenzied Genital Carbonization", "Syndicate of Sickness" and "Apology for Pathology".
