Aha. It was set for 2011 as I remember cause originally it would be released in 2011. Imo they should have waited and worked on it a bit more, it sounds quite uninspired compared to their other albums.

damn thats sad....these guys have brought forth great album after great album for such a long time. we'll see what THESE ears say, though

I think it's still a good album but I too am a little underwhelmed by it, needs a bit more epic. Then again I think I felt the same way about Ape Uprising and now I love it so who knows.

I totally agree with you although Ape Uprising clicked with me immediately.
I have played The Animal Spirits at least 30 times by now and am still underwhelmed by it, although it is still a decent album.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Nothing wrong with a different approach now and again.

Though I can understand how some wouldn't go for this more laid-back sound.
