The third had some good songs, but IMO the first two are way more consistent all the way through.

Okay, Ive now finished listening to the full EP. xD Chris seems to be struggling with his vocals in some tracks, the growls not always as effective as they could be. As for the tracks themselves, the title track is a total facemelter, and is an amazing song. Old school death metal at its finest! "My Corpse Shall Rise" is another great track, starting with a great, slow riff (reminiscent of "Chaos Breed" by Entombed), and creates a tense build up, it then careers off into a vicious display of Autopsy - style madness. These are the 2 best tracks on the EP, although the doomy "Mutant Village" also has some good moments, and the speedy last few seconds threw me, and works very well. lol Tracks 3 and 4 arent that great, although maybe they'll grow on me.

All in all, its great to hear some new material from the band, and the great songs are totally classic Autopsy. Looking forward to "Macabre Eternal" now!

The other tracks are all better, IMO.

Listened to it today in the recordshop but dindn't buy it, I have doubts about the production. Do they want to sound old school or ARE they old school? In the end it's a fine EP, but is it THAT good?

Yeah, I was a bit surprised by the production as well, but it's nothing that particularly bothers me.

Well, it's no Severed Survival or Mental Funeral, but it's good.

Second listening on it's way, and I find this damn strong second coming. Autopsy being one of my all-time very favourites, this comeback was both waited and feared. As an EP and being this good, my hopes for the coming full length are peaked.

I can see what you guys mean about production: actually, I'm glad the sound is not a replica of the days old. This sounds fresh and still essentilally what Autopsy truly is: menacing, lunacy-riddled, chaotic and outright dangerous... Probably nothing ever can beat mental Funeral. However, their new (or old with a twist) direction is very much appreciated here.

I haven't heard something so complete and raw as this EP in several months!
Thank you autopsy!

I actually prefer this to 'Macabre Eternal', mainly because it has just the right length (being an EP it isn't surprising), and also seems to have a slightly better song structure all round. I don't think anybody has made anything quite as raw or murky as this in recent years...
