Dark and brooding is Communic's latest offering and with comparisons between this outstanding three-piece and the looming presence of Nevermore, they attempt to venture further away from their inspirations. Ironically to do this they've decided to focus on the heavier aspect of their sound. The result, however, is not the same impeccably composed progressive epics, but a stunted series of sorely underdeveloped tracks which bear little resemblance to quality like you would find on Waves of Visual Decay.

No doubt, 3 good ones so far, I expect it to be at least as good as the last one.

Hmm... lukewarm reception thusfar.

That is definitely how I felt when I first started listening. Being a huge Communic fan, I was a little dissapointed at first but once you get past the first 4 songs, the albums starts to pick up temendously. My Fallen has got to be one of the best songs they've ever done though, it is x-tremely badass!

It's a pretty good album. It definitely didn't have the same effect on me as Waves of Visual Decay did when I first listened to it. Either way I'll have to listen to this album more before I rate it.

Bit of a disappointment this one. The vocal melodies are too bland for such non-melodic, riff-oriented music, it just falls flat on most cases. Wayward Soul is a great song though, saves the album from a lower rating almost single-handedly.

What a huge step down from their previous and awesome albums... It felt like they were lined up for the 100 m dash, but never began to run.

Great. Another mediocre heavy metal album. Too bad it's from a (formerly?) decent prog band.

I don't think this is so much worse than Payment Of Existence. You should at least check out "Wayward Soul", I like that song a lot.

I liked this album, too; I don't think it's average like many people say, the sound is pretty tight, the musicians competent, top notch I dare say.

I was truly dissapointed after this one and at that point felt tired of bands formula (luckily I now returned and notice that this was just a mistep). This album doesn't feel as inspired and captivating as the ones before, it's too much meat without the added components that make it worthwhile.. but as I now listen I don't think it's that bad. The riffs are for most part unmemorable and the vocals feel a bit dull but it's only the two first songs I feel like skipping, the rest are quite okey and some of them like Flood River Blood, My Fallen and Destroyer Of Bloodlines works all the way.
