In my opinion one of the band's best albums. The guitar tone is heavy throughout, and on songs such as 'Resisting the ghost' and the somewhat shorter 'Nocturnal fist' the rhythm suits the sound perfectly. Most of the songs obviously have more of a Heavy Metal influence (Heavy Metal that has more in common with Black Sabbath than anything else, mind), but the doomy overtones of the last two songs, the monumental 'Congregation of sorcerers' and extremely mezmerizing 'Halo of fire' really show Cathedral's best song-writing abilities.

This is quite a good record. I wouldn't go as far as calling The VIIth Coming a classic Cathedral record, but it has that distinctive sound and songwriting is good too.
My favourite is Iconoclast - a powerful song. Though I also like very much Skullflower and Nocturnal Fist.
