Abandon even the vestiges of your expectations. They have no place here in the garden of the Botanist.

Encapsulated in a fascinating fictional lore, the Botanist takes the familiar theme stemming from nature and the crimes against it by man and contorts it into the bizarre verdant realm of the entity known as the Botanist.

Yes, you read that correctly, hammered dulcimer black metal.

Um, okay.

Don't mind mz, he's just pullin' yer tit. I get the comparison - the zany nature and unorthodox approach. It's a parallel thing.

I know, haha. Thanks for getting the parallel though.

The weird thing is that I actually love the dulcimer etc, it's the vocals I can't stand.

That was my initial thought too, the gargled style still kinda of bother me, but I got used to it halfway through. Maybe another listen?

Yeah, maybe. But usually when the vocals are a turn off, I rarely change my mind. But it doesn't mean I won't give it another try.

This is still a cool album.

Friendly reminder that Mikko Aspa is probably the biggest loser in the world.

I fucking love that movie so much you have no idea. One weekend when I was 8 or 9 years old I saw and replayed that rented VHS at least 4 times.

Oh, and I really dig this album. For some reason I stopped listening to them after the doomy sophomore work. I should really try to listen to the rest of their discog at some point.
