When I first heard the name of the folk metal genre, I wondered how the traditional sounds of a country were combined with metal music, but when I first listened to Finnish folk metal music, I found all my answers. Undoubtedly, the main focus of folk metal is Finland, and Finntroll is one of the main pillars of the country in the metallic folk genre. A group with six beautifully crafted albums and new techniques in the folk-metallic style brings out the true nature of the Finns, which always gives me a sense of both satisfaction and excitement.

After having listened to this over and over tons of time. I kinda wonder where to put it among the other finntroll albums. It's obviously very good. When I first listened to it I felt it might even compare to Nattfödd and Jaktens Tid. Now I'm wondering if it's better then Ur Jordens Djup. And It probably is. So you could call this Finntrolls third best album. Even though I'm still personally more attached to Ur Jordens Djup and like it one step more. Who knows maybe I've just listened to this too much and grew tired of the songs, I might need to revaluate my opinion in the future once the songs are more fresh in my mind again.

Lol, bunch of trolls. Most uninteresting fusion of folk music and heavy metal. Every track is predictable and annoying. Only positive is that it is 10 billion light years better than Blackwater Park.

You are not metal enough until you visit Kenya. The cradle of mankind, where man learnt first to work with stones and first enjoyed the sounds produced by banging stones which later influenced metal in all its sounds and genres.
