Pretty sweet! Classic power metal with enough of the modern elements to be its own sound and not a throwback. High energy, too! I dig...

Me too!
If there is one thing that always bugs me about a lot of power metal, it's that the synth usually sounds tired and half-assed. >_> But this shit... man, it's front and center driving the song along with everything else, giving the music a bit of character for sure. These guys don't fuck around with that synthesizer, and I love it! ^-^

In the last weeks (or months) everytime I looked at the staff picks it was always some black, sludge or prog, never any power, symphonic or gothic.

Indeed. I don't usually submit Staff picks, because I find myself digging up old albums and getting into them much more than listening to new releases. I listened to this album on their bandcamp out of pure curiosity. Discovering their band name, I was expecting something completely generic but was pleasantly surprised to be refreshed with this catchy and interesting listen. I hope you enjoyed the album! ^~^

Well, when I first checked them out on Myspace I wasn't really impressed. Seeing the prog/power tag I was expecting something like Wuthering Heights (just with more synths), but it was completely different, and I didn't like the vocals at all. But later I checked the Bandcamp page and the songs there were much better, the vocals improved. So I realized their Myspace had older songs mostly
I need to listen the album more times to rate it, but yes, I enjoyed it so far

Ranking your own album a 10 is like wearing your own band's t-shirt man
you just don't do it

Lots of bands wear their own shirts, and come here and give their own albums 10s. It's called self-promotion, and there's nothing wrong with it. A band that doesn't self-promote might as well be shooting itself in the foot.

Why not? I wear my t-shirt =) It is cool btw... And I love our albums! =)
That's just silly stereotype. It is your own choice what to do and what not to do. =)

Yep! I was shooting myself in the foot for about 10 years. After I gave it up I finally have fans and even little bit of sales! =)

totally right that you support your own band in those ways.
I remember when Metallica just started out as well as Slayer and all those sorts of bands, they frequently wore their own band shirts on and off stage. And especially when not playing themselves but attending gigs of other bands. That's one of the ways to get your name out there.

I feel like this album came out of nowhere and hit me in the face! And its been out since March! This is some of the most original stuff I've heard in years. I rate it a 9, but I'm giving it a 10. On repeat...

That was my exact sentiment back in April, when I found it thanks to the Staff pick.

Haha, the vocals in the last track sound half crazy at times. I guess its fitting for the lyrics tho.
