Let's say you want to make a sandwich. You've firmly decided on white bread as your dough of choice, but being the s̶n̶o̶b̶b̶y̶ ̶a̶s̶s̶h̶o̶l̶e̶ sophisticated intellectual that you are you don't want to settle for a mere ham and cheese, that's just far too bland for your likings. So you go to the supermarket and stock up on $30 worth of ingredients to make this a sandwich more catered to your IQ points (and credit score). What results is a monumental supreme taste voyage of meat and vegetables whose numbers go beyond the limits of the human language?. or, in other words, an edible equivalent of Lifewoven, the highly impressive 2013 debut from American band Dreadnought.

I'm enjoying the album big time, I just read the review on it, but I had no idea that it could be this awesome it might be my top one from 2013 along side of Subrosa, the vocalist is my type, the tone the style, and approach all is what I enjoy so much plus their awesome music. Great stuff.

Same here. One of the best 2013 releases easily for me and probably the most unique of them all. Which vocalist do you mean? There are several vocalists.

I could've known. But she only sings in 2 or 3 songs if I remember correctly.

I don't think so ,as far I remember she was the dominant vocalist, but anyway it doesn't matter

Several? Like... two? And I think the keyboard player only does backing vocals. Or maybe you were talking about Subrosa.

This band has 2 vocalists and both of them are female , just to make it clear.

Haha okay, thanks for clearing that up. Obviously one vocalist is female, but I didn't expect the other to be female as well.

Well, not quite surprised me with "oh, i have listened this stuff so many times by some other acts" record. I don't why there so much hype around this album, as it sounds to me pretty okay-ish. No big deal. May be deep prog aficionados could make out their pros and cons of this album much perfectly but to me it's just sounds, as i said, okay.

Honestly, i've heard much better records than Lifewoven.

Immolation is the best song in this album for me. That jazz moment was unnexpected and very interesting.

By the way, I don't think they are mature yet, they can improve this style and grow into one hell of a band. I'm waiting for their next release.

I would like to give this album more than 6, but seriously, the harsh vocals ruined this album. It would had been better if it was just an instrumental album or just the clean female vocals IMO.

I so don't understand the appeal in this kind of stuff.

It's called "feeling".

Either way, you can't dock points for a band trying something different, alot of genres get quite bland and is refreshing to see prog rock and metal fused together.

The vocalist sounds a bit like the singer from Wolves in the throne room..
