The Japanese were the first to witness this surprising stabilisation of a band that seemed beyond saving. In late 2014 an all new Angra first flourished, and the turn over to a new year demonstrated to the rest of the world an earnest progressive growth in the repertoire of Brazil's leading light in power metal. The secret they revealed in their latest record is that Angra aren't finished just yet.

Stunning Cactus
With Fabio Lione as the vocalist, this album cannot be short of a masterpiece. Bring it on, I am beyond pumped!!

^^ not everything Fabio touches turns to gold, but I certainly hope the album halts the decline in quality since ToS...

First gig was Manowar (loincloths 'n' all), Bristol Colston Hall in March 1983, on the 'Hail to England' tour. Tickets were £3.75, 300 in the audience, Mercyful Fate never showed, but my hearing still got seriously trashed..

Please not Fabio Lione. I don't like his vocals, and Angra deserve a better singer, they deserve the best singer out there. Great musicians with the biggest talent out of most bands. Anyway this is still a more important metal update than all updates combined from this year .

Damn it. I had way too high expectations. I can't believe they ruined this album by having so many different singers. This was really dissapointing. Why couldn't they just let Fabio sing the tracks? The tracks he actually does sing on aren't even that great to begin with. What happened to Angra?

I love it, I don't like Fabio's voice and never did, but it sounds more like their pre-ToS stuff, and it's as good as ever.

I'm a little disappointed with the fact that there's only 2 fast songs in the whole album, but this is a good Prog album nonetheless, very technical and diverse. But it could've been better if the proggier tracks had more length. They never exceed 10 minutes.

True. It will be a nice album if the one likes progressive orientation rather than speedy one. The songs sound like the latter part of "Tample of Shadows"-- middle tempo and twisted composition. However, one thing I dont like is that the essence of latin music ,like past works, is almost lost and their sound is "modernized" prog metal like Dream Theater.

Its Ok. Sounds a bit too symphony X for me, though, nowhere near enough like ToS to be on 'that' level. Feels way more power than prog imo, they've lost their balance

At first i wasn´t convinced about the quality and the consistency of this release. For me it was a bit strange listening to a different and more progressive Angra with Fabio Lione on board. I don´t know how to explain but the first listening was awkward. But after 5 or 6 spins the album grew on me in a spectacular way. It grew on me so much, that i think it´s definitely one of the best Angra albuns just behind "Holy Land", "Temple of Shadows" and "Angels Cry", perhaps better than "Rebirth", wich is something amazing. All the songs are spectacular, with amazing riffs, solos and choruses, all extremely well structured with excellent well tuned vocals by Lione and Rafa Bittencourt. "Black Hearted Soul" just got be one of the best Angra songs ever... i mean EVER!

The only reason i don´t give it a 10/10, it´s because of the song "Secret Garden" that shoud be a little different, with Lione singing alongside Simone. The song is beautiful, don´t get me wrong, but it resembles too much Epica. Angra has a different identity. I think that "link" to the dutch band is the only downside of this release, but anyway amazing one! Congrats to the guys.

Good god. The ballad, with who I am assuming is Epica's singer, is a total buzzkill. Besides that and its so-dark-so-clean-so-modern production, this album is on point!

A solid release. Not just Fabio sings in this one. There are other guys singing in one or two songs.

Fabio Lione makes an excellent fit for Angra, he pulls off the high notes much better than Edu (especially in Aqua)
