Best arcturus album of the decade.

I'll disregard that annoying "in this thread" comment.

Well, decade=a period of 10 years. So the only two permissible albums for "the decade" are Sideshow Symphonies and Arcturian. In essence, you're simply saying you like it better than Sideshow Symphonies, a sentiment that most people tend to agree with.

This decade is five years old now and Arcturian is the only release in that period of time so no matter how crap this would be it would still be their best in this decade

Haha excellent point. I was trying to be as generous with him as I possibly could.

I like how they married the sound of their not-so-exciting Sideshow Symphonies to their older sound. Production isn't what I expected but it works anyway. I'm glad they returned after all, hope I can see them live!

Nice Masterpiece. It's an awesome grower. Even with lots of years of difference, they remain with the same sound and feeling, but fresh. Very good and enjoying album. I want more ^^

Yea, at first I was underwhelmed, but once I got used to the hectic production it grew on me like crazy. And I love ICS Vortex's delivery, I think this is the best album he's been on yet. Especially at certain points where he transitions from singing to a short burst of harsh vocals.

"The Journey" sounds like it was taken from the Gris' latest output... Minus electro intro and the cleans, of course.

I've always felt somewhat estranged by Arcturus releases, but that being said this is pretty solid. The Arcturian Sign is a brilliant opening track, and the rest of the album is pretty good too. (Though there aren't many other remarkably high moments on the album either)

Awesome album. 8.5/10 material I'd say. For now a 9 will do.

Definitely one of my favourites of this year, even though I have a lot of catching up to do.

Still don't see why it's nominated in extreme prog. Regular prog or avant garde would have fit better.

Too crazy for regular prog, not crazy enough for avant-garde

^Exactly. Doesn't really fit alongside the likes of Steven Wilson, Leprous and Riverside.
