In 2013, I reviewed Dreadnought's Lifewoven debut and compared it to a massive sandwich with an overwhelming number of ingredients. Keeping the metaphorical train a-rolling, one could then say that this year's follow up, Bridging Realms, is more of a fine glass of wine: not quite as heavy, but still flavorful, and more smooth and relaxing.

Whenever I write something funny, weird, or pretentious... I learned English by playing Baldur's Gate, okay?

A substantial improvement over their debut. Going to have to give this one another spin!

Good to hear. As much as many people loved it, I really couldn't get into thier debut. Hoping this one works out better for me.

Wow, this actually sounds good so far. The last album sounded like shit, quite frankly, but it seems these guys finally got a good producer on board. Sounds much more balanced and organic, and not just an unpleasant sounding collection of ideas thrown together. Even the blackened vocals sound all right here.

And yeah, that artwork is one of the best. Ever.

Making me think of Astra (USA) a very small amount, only much more varied.

Their first album was excellent, this is mind blowing. Even includes good transitions from smooth, mild jazz to blackish metal and back.

This release needs more attention.

Umm, yeah... This is absolutely one of the best records of the year. There's something here to love for fans of post, prog, folk, even black... Heavy and beautiful at the same time, on a level a lot of bands might shoot for but can't seem to approach. The songs are very well composed. This is the kind of music that just swallows you up. Very well done.

Sweet blend of instruments and styles. Love the screams. Imperfections in all the right places. I like it a lot!
