High Fist Prog
A unique and breathtaking blend of progressive-laden styles. Picture your feet dangling from the side of a sailboat, choppy waves of mathy Djent threaten to knock you astern. Seeking cover, you run beneath the deck of the boat only to find the waves have quelled. You emerge to find a gorgeous clear-cast sky of atmospheric industrial metal painting the sky like northern lights. Warm breezes of alternative metal brush past from time to time, almost sentient in its probing and inquisitive nature. The keyboards and vocals are as an omnipresent flock of seagulls twirling overhead, the chorus of their cries molding to the breath of the ocean. Bouts of thunderous drumming match the intensity of the waves: distant and innocuous - near and erratic.

Although it doesn't quite cover all aspects of the music, I like the way comical Bandcamp user Nilkki Pyllylä put it: "It's like Meshuggah trying to make a Top 40 album and failing beautifully." Throw in some melodic and atmospheric industrial à la Neurotech and you've essentially completed the picture. It's also worth mentioning that the mid-range vocals are a welcome aspect for a band in a genre rife with helium-infused singers. I was, however, a bit disappointed that once again *sigh* the first half of the album is slightly better than the latter. That said, the overall quality is praiseworthy, especially considering that this is a debut.

I was lucky to find them as starting band at a gig of Agent Fresco, I liked the live performance a lot, so I got the album.
It's a very interesting and balanced mix of djent riff and softer vocal/keyboard parts (with occasional growls).
The songwriting is very, very, very good.
Being uncertain between 8 or 9 I go for 9 just as a "morale boost" and because I would like more album like this around.

Huh, this is album is one frigging wild ride, it's like a mix of Meshuggah and Devin Townsend with little bit of metalcore and atmospheric rock. There's so many things going on at the same time it's almost beatiful.

You've got a lot of guts. Let's see what they look like!
