Running Wild's special dialect of metal has always been a musical wonder to me. Is it possible to forget albums such as Death Or Glory? Rapid Foray, the 15th return of the German pirates to the deck of their ship, is a precious and original album that reminds me of heavy metal's peak. Rapid Foray seems to me to have a hills-and-valleys process; I mean, if you want to hear the uppermost peak of Rapid Foray, you should not bore yourself with judgment, and the two opening songs are actually at the base of Rapid Foray's musical curve. The album slopes upward to reach its maximum. In the two first tracks of the album, we hear the usual process we know from Running Wild, the fast and fussy guitar riffs and the bandwidth weighted in terms of frequency. Of course, at the beginning of the album in "Black Skies, Red Flag," you can embrace the peak of Rulf's singing; though its sound is somewhat aged, it's still overwhelming and it winds up the ship's sails. In some way some songs were decent but bot for this band another maiden type what cant, but we know he is old, and best years are when you're young but as far seems bands play this for them selfs, so why not, I cant rate this one, nice one but there are much better RW albums.

Better than the last 3 albums, but those drums sound programmed. I got used to it after few listens, but it's not like they couldn't afford a proper drumer for this album. Can't see why there's a drum machine on album  Also, you should check a copycat band named Blazon Stone if you're hardcore fan and always want more RW like stuff. They really did fine job immitating sound from 90's Running Wild.

These songs are surprisingly pretty good  Finally Rolf has brought enough metal in to the songs again after all these rock n roll oriented albums.

Written by Neoxx07 on 03.09.2016 at 19:38 I won't say the reviewers are 100% wrong, but I say for sure that they come to listen this album with prejudices [which is easy after 3 weak RW albums]  People live in the past and expect the band to do like they did in the past ? which won't gonna happen ? and they end up being disappointed because they expect impossible.

Resilient was better.... Bloody Island, The Drift, Soldiers of Fortune, Dessert Rose... Now there are some good tracks but still those are not too heavy, rather rock 'n' roll. For sure it's not what I heard in the Rock'n'Rolf announcement that Rapid Foray will sound like old Running Wild. It's not. I cannot feel Under Jolly Roger or even Port Royal in those tracks (my dream is sound from Branded and Exiled). But still, it's sounds good, for me worth 7 points.

Solid effort. Opening Black Skies, Red Flag is possibly the best RW song since the reunion and the instrumental The Depth Of The Sea is really cool and reminds me of RW in their prime. The finishing 11 minute Last Of The Mohicans also works surprisingly well.
