I'm one of those people who usually needs multiple listens to decide if I like something, but this is absolutely fantastic. Does it top the previous two albums? Time will tell.

Just got my copy in the mail yesterday and went through it once, so far I think this is an excellent album! I'll need more listens to fully digest it but I can already name some favorites like By the Light of the Funeral Pyres, the Farewell trilogy, Victorious, and Dream Machines!
It was a long wait, but the results were worth it for me! Great stuff all around.

I don't know... I've heard about half of this release, and I can't remember anything. Should I bother with the second half at all?

yes, I think it's a classic grower... listens 3,4,5 onwards for me it just got better...

First gig was Manowar (loincloths 'n' all), Bristol Colston Hall in March 1983, on the 'Hail to England' tour. Tickets were £3.75, 300 in the audience, Mercyful Fate never showed, but my hearing still got seriously trashed..

Surprisingly good (I admit I wasn't expecting much, or to enjoy it so much )

It's amazing. I don't see a drop in quality from the previous 3.

This has to be my first or second favorite album by the band, incredible from beginning to end. For some reason I didn't notice it when it first came out and I disregarded it too soon. Absolutely amazing!

I listened to this a few times when it came out and that was that. I need to re-listen soon, because it's worth it.
