Ahh Obscura, I can always count on them for good technical DM. Let's check this album.

Dope as fuck... I'm enjoying it so much more than their last album. Rafael is definitely a much better fit than Fountainhead was, and the drumming on this album sounds really nice. I'll be spinning this for a while.

Loooooooove the atmosphere here. And they manage to make every song have an interesting passage or aspect to it.

I dont even know why i keep on giving this band a chance. their production has become so soft that i cannot feel any aggressiveness at all..

But they're not an aggressive band. Have you ever listened to Cynic? You wouldn't call them aggressive either.

Last 4 albums were amazing. But this is probably their best.

Probably their most technical and rhythmic release to date, and yet they still manage to maintain a decent amount of melody to the song structures. The fretless bass work is absolutely flawless! Even better, and more effective than what they had done previously, and the drumming performance is up there with the best in the genre. The clean Cynic style vocals still don't really do much for me, I guess they aren't my thing too robotic

Funny you should post that today of all days. They're performing the title track in front of me and 100 other weirdos at this very moment.

Why the hell are you on Metal Storm during a concert?
Btw, was this with Disillusion opening?

I agree, being online during a gig is probably one of the most nonsensical things you can do. But there is a rather simple explanation: Obscura played a totally unexpected second encore while I was already in the queue at the sales booth to check my MS collection for what I might be missing - and that was exactly the moment when I stumbled across Andy's comment.
Yeah, I was there mainly because of the mighty Disillusion. Experiencing them as the opening act, even before Persefone (who, by the way, put on a great performance) and with the worst sound of the night, was a bit unusual though.

I sure did. I almost completely forgot about the concert, which had been postponed by many months, and then hesitated until the last moment to quickly get a ticket, but in the end I didn't regret it in any way. Less than 30 euros for this pretty impressive lineup was also quite a fair deal.

Okay, in that very specific case I'd say it's acceptable
I was thinking of going to that tour as well, mainly because of Disillusion, although I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Obscura. Having to sit through Persefone doesn't appeal to me though...
How long did Disillusion play? I'm guessing like 30-40 minutes? That's like 3 songs
I'm not sure if I find it worthwhile, especially if they end up having bad sound like they did at your show.
EDIT: Actually, I just noticed they have some headliner shows planned in Germany later this year. I might make the trip if I can find a suitable date and city.
