Imagine the spacious, tranquil tech death of Fallujah, a slithery, Gorguts-like anti-melody, the alien darkness of Nucleus... well, heck, just dump all your favorite progressive/technical death metal bands into one and you've got an idea of how Warforged sounds.

Calling these guys death metal is a bit reductive, but this is shaping up nicely regardless. Took them long enough to make it after their quality EP 5 years ago.

Didn't expect myself to like this as much as I did. AOTY so far for me.

I've been slowly ingesting this over the last week and can safely say that I fucking love it. The mix of tech/prog death and moody atmosphere make for the best listening experience I've had this year. Really hope these guys get some recognition for this masterpiece.

The softer sections have been judiciously used throughout the album. They add the real depth to the album and are quite jazzy in nature. Somehow this sounded more of a black metal album than progressive death to me, eventhough there are a few really good technical guitar riffs. It may be oversimplifying things but the whole album sounds like the approach taken by Schammasch with their drone sound.

The music seems nice but the production is so bad I changed my headphones to make sure they were not dying on me.. Well they weren't, the production is just very bad. Couldn't listen to more than 3 tracks :/ I think it's the drums who don't sound crisp and mess up with the rest, but not sure.

Has a great Aquilus-y forest vibe. Great balance between insanity and some softer ambient parts, both with unique atmospheres. Some of the riffs are tremendous, and the diverse instrumentation used in the quiet parts is excellent.

Edit: Oh, and the lyrics! Just amazing.
